Dante & Dory’s Pet Emporium in Galesburg, Illinois is growing — and we are looking for a highly organized, dependable, and proactive Marketing & Operations Coordinator to join our team.

Dante & Dory’s Pet Emporium is in a season of growth.

As the business expands — through events, partnerships, marketing initiatives, and integration with affiliated brand initiatives — we need someone who can bring clarity, organization, and consistent execution to our vision.

You will work directly alongside the owner, Candace D'Agnolo, to help turn ideas into action and ensure projects, promotions, and partnerships move forward consistently.

What This Role Is Designed To Do

The Marketing & Operations Coordinator exists to:

  • Reduce leadership bottlenecks
  • Create clarity around projects and deadlines
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns and events
  • Ensure follow-through across initiatives
  • Support the growth of both Dante & Dory’s Pet Emporium and affiliated brand initiatives
  • This role supports execution of all marketing and events — not just ideas.

Key Responsibilities

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

  • Maintain project timelines and key deadlines
  • Help organize and maintain SOPs and internal systems
  • Coordinate interior projects and marketing asset updates
  • Support signage and in-store promotional execution
  • Track open loops and ensure completion

MARKETING & CAMPAIGN COORDINATION

  • Plan and coordinate promotions from start to finish
  • Schedule and execute email marketing campaigns
  • Manage and schedule social media content
  • Support campaign evaluation and improvement
  • Ensure brand consistency across channels

EVENT PLANNING & EXECUTION

  • Coordinate in-store events and special initiatives
  • Create timelines and marketing plans for events
  • Work with team members to ensure smooth execution
  • Support post-event follow-up and documentation

STRATEGIC INTEGRATION

  • Assist with content coordination and deadlines
  • Identify cross-promotional opportunities
  • Support partnerships and industry event preparation
  • Capture content and insights for future use

Experience & Skills

  • 1–4 years of experience in marketing coordination, project management, operations support, or related field
  • Comfortable with email marketing platforms like Constant Contact, Mail Chimp or others.
  • Knowledgable on content creation for videos, reels and posts on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
  • Proficient with Canva
  • Comfortable flying on airplanes and attending industry trade shows across the country 2-4 times a year. 
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Experience coordinating events or multi-step projects preferred
  • Experience in retail, hospitality, or small business environments is a plus
  • Corporate or agency experience is not required. Small business mindset and adaptability matter more.

Compensation & Benefits (Full Time Only)

  • Salary Range: $48,000 – $58,000 annually, based on experience
  • Paid time off package (including major holidays)

Compensation will align with experience, demonstrated capability, and long-term growth potential within the company. If we decide to fill this position with a part-time team member, a different compensation package will be presented. 

Location

This is primarily an in-person role based at Dante & Dory's Pet Emporium at 354 E. Main Street in downtown Galesburg, Il, where we serve pet families across Western Illinois and surrounding areas including Peoria and the Quad Cities.

Some location flexibility may be available for administrative or marketing tasks.

Hours can be flexible for mornings, afternoons and evenings and various days of the week, as long as all meetings can be met and all content can be collected between Mon-Fri 8a-4p as a scheduled meeting with other team.

You will be asked to travel a few times a year for pet industry trade shows. All expenses will be covered by our company.
